Participants can have more than one WBLP in the database. If a participant has more than one job/internship placement, they should have a separate WBLP for each one. ALSO: if they have a placement that extends from one program year to the next, or, in some cases, from summer to school year, they should have a new WBLP for each time period.
Please be sure to use the same Participant ID in order to be clear that it is the same participant.
You may use the "COPY ALL" functionthat is nearthe bottom of the Placement screen or WBLP Header screen to make a copy of a record.
If you use the "COPY ALL" button, this function will create a new record with "(COPY) -" and the participant name in the participant name field. You should open the new record, and change the particpant name and then change the start and end dates and other details.
Q.What do I do if a job/internship continues from the summer into the school year, or from one program year to the next? It depends on the grant or program you are working with. For Connecting Activities: Connecting Activities program reports are based on work experiences with a START DATE in the current program year, and are based on a count of summer and/or school year. Therefore, if a Connecting Activities participant has a job that extends from summer into school year, or extends from one program year to the next, we recommend that, for reporting, you start a new placement record and WBLP. For other programs: Formost programs, we recommend that you start a new placement record each July 1st, in order to be clear that the job/internship is continuing into the new program year. |
